2018 Surf Dive 'n Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles Set For Start In South Australia

The nation’s best junior surfers are primed and ready to do battle at the 2018 Surf Dive ‘n Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula from December 1st. 

Catering for a variety of swell and wind conditions the region, located eighty kilometres south of Adelaide, shapes as a fantastic location for the future stars of surfing to showcase their skills in an effort to claim a prestigious Australian Title. 

Surfing South Australia CEO Craig Potgieter said: “Surfing South Australia is stoked to be able to host such a prestigious junior event and showcase our region. A big thanks has to go out to the City of Victor Harbour Council for helping to make it all possible."

With a joint National Titles encompassing Individual (Under 14, 16 and 18 age groups) and Australian School Surfing Association (Allstars and MR Shield) disciplines in both boys and girl’s divisions, the event is considered the benchmark of junior surfing in the country. 

With past winners including World Champions Steph Gilmore, Chelsea Hedges, Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Mark Richards, Tom Carroll and Damian Hardman, a win in this year’s event is a legitimate stepping stone to world stage glory.

The 2018 Surf Dive ‘n Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles will commence with an opening ceremony on Saturday 1st December before surfing starts on Sunday 2nd December and runs through to Saturday 8th December.

The 2018 Surf Dive ‘n Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles are proudly supported by City of Victor Harbour, Woolworths, 2XP Sunscreen, Hydralyte Sports, Air Asia, Hyundai, Hurley, School Sport Australia, Sport Australia, Surfing South Australia, School Sport South Australia, Surfing Australia and mySURFtv. 


The Surf Dive n Ski Australian Junior Surfing Titles features the Australian Junior Titles and the Australian School Surfing Titles. The key dates for the event are:

Saturday 1st December, 2018:

Opening Ceremony and Team and Judges Meetings (all Competitors, Team Managers and Judges to attend)

Venue: TBC

Times: 3:00pm Opening Ceremony & Competitor Briefing 4:00pm Team Manager’s Meeting       4:30pm Judges Meeting

- Sunday 2nd – Saturday 8th December, 2018:

Contest period for both the Australian Junior Titles and Australian School Surfing Titles (Competitors in all divisions are required to be in the Fleurieu Peninsula region for the duration of the contest period)

* -        Tuesday 4th December – Saturday 8th December, 2018: Contest period for the Under 14’s Boys and Girls Australian Junior Titles divisions.

Venue(s): Competition is fully mobile in the Fleurieu Peninsula (See contest venues below)

Times: Competition is expected to commence each day at 7:30am and run through to approximately 4:00pm each day
